Merry Christmas. We had a great, relaxful day. It took us 2 hours to open our presents and we enjoyed every minute. The first family picture attempt was quite the adventure (he was only 9 days old). I was still sore and sitting for long periods of time was uncomfortable. On top of that Carter's diapers leaked all the time. During the picture it was one of those times; he was wet and so was I. The picture turned out pretty good considering.
This is our second time taking a family picture. I think we had a better experience. Carter was fighting going to sleep (he was 16 days old at this one). Notice Dave and I were holding hands, half way through taking the pictures Carter put his hand on ours too. I thought it was so cute.
We got a sign language kit for Christmas. Now Dave and I can teach ourselves and then teach Carter.Baby's first Christmas
Our son likes to sleep with his hands by his head.
Another picture of him sleeping with his hands in the air. Funny little guy.

Daddy and Carter on Christmas day.Mommy and Carter on Christmas.Aunt Alyse and Carter, so cute. My mom and sister came to California to spend Christmas with us.Grandma Sherri and Carter.

I finally finished the Twilight series. I could not get through the last book, it got kinda lame. Stephanie spent like 5 chapters on one topic. The topic was repeated over and over. It got old. The story was good but she just spent too long to get to the point. I liked the part were she was trying to find J. Jensen, that was fast moving and she did not dwell on it too long. She did well on the stories. They were entertaining, but kinda love sappy.

I have not seen the movie yet and wonder if it will be as entertaining. If you have seen the movie let me know what you think.

Little Boy in Blue

This outfit is a little too big on Carter but he looks like a little boy in it. Of the clothes that he can fit in they all look unisex, so this is one of my favorites. The rest of his clothes don't fit him yet.

I can't believe that he is already 12 days old. I still have to keep telling myself that he is my son and I am his mom. This is all so surreal. But I love it!

December 5, 2008

Thursday I was done. I joked to Dave that we were going to have Carter on Saturday, after he got off work. Fast forward to Friday morning at 6:30. "Uhm, I need to turn on the light, is that ok?" I jumped out of bed and I was all wet, so was the bed. "I think that my water broke." We decided that Dave would continue to go to work since he would be done by noon and I would call the doctors when they opened. Then I took a shower and Dave left. I did my make-up and packed a hospital bag.

When I called the doctors they said come in right away and if my water really did break then I would go straight to the hospital. Dave's mom drove me. I was indused, 6 hours later Carter was born. He weighed 6 lbs 5 oz and was 19 inches long.
After the clean-up, all nice and snug.

The proud parents getting ready to take Carter home.

It is amazing how much we love him already. We are so glad he is here.

Decorating The Chrismtas Tree

I love Christmas. This year the tree was decorated by Tessa, Mom, and Lesley. I think that it was the fastest I have ever seen a tree decorated. The tree turned our to be so perfect. The theme is red and white. I love it; it looks like one professionally decorated. Go Us!
This one is a black and white with only the red color showing. Aren't camera's amazing.
I like this HoHoHo ornament. Here Dave is practicing his photography. I like the close up of this one.And the final product. Beautiful!

Oakland Temple Lights

For family night on Monday when to the temple to see the lights. I really enjoyed them. We were the only ones there. I think that going right after Thanksgiving on Monday was a great idea. It was so peaceful and you could hear the Christmas music playing in the background.

Here is Macade looking at Uncle Dave taking pictures.

This is a cool shot of a palm tree. Looks like fireworks.

I love this picture of Mary and Joseph with baby Jesus.

Happy Thanksgiving

I love the holidays. I have so much to be thankful for. I have been fortunate to spend this time with family. We went to Oregon for this last weekend and had a little get together. We picked up Tessa and Macade, drove back down to Dave's parents home and have been enjoying each other. Dave and Macade have been quite the pair. Macade love's playing with Uncle Dave. Here is a video of them playing with the slot cars or "fast cars". He has learned to trick his Uncle and gets so excited. Sorry it is a little dark. But still cute.

Christmas Present

Last year for Christmas Dave gave me some coupons. Some of the coupon were: a back rub, do the dishes, give me attention, take me out to dinner, and cook a meal for us. Last night I finally used the cook a meal for the two of us. Here is Dave finishing up.

Here is the table set. He is so romantic, he even got out some candles and "wine" glasses. It is all about the presentation. Pretty great looking meal.

The meal was delicious. I don't know what he did to the potato, but it was one of the most moist baked potatoes I have ever had. Thanks Dave for the wonderful Christmas present.

PS 30 more days (give or take) until we have our baby come into the world. And I am kinda freakin out that today is that last day EVER that I will be 25. I liked being 25 it was a good age.

November 10, 2008

On Friday our ward had a craft night. I made some jewelry and a Christmas decoration (that is not finished because the lettering had not been ordered; we are waiting on that). I loved making my own jewelry. I want to get into the whole jewelry making, it is some much cheaper and so fun. Look how cute this toggle latch is. I made a necklace and a pair of earrings for only $12 dollars. And I got to know some of the ladies in the ward. I will post pictures of the other things that I made when they are finish.

Random Thoughts

*Forty more days and the count down begins. I am ready to start feeling comfortable again. I can't believe that the pregnancy has gone by this fast. Forty days and we will be Mom and Dad. I see babies at church and various places and can't wait to hold our baby.
*This past weekend it has been raining a lot. Not as much as Spokane but more than Idaho and Arizona. At least it is not snow. On that note, I get fooled. It looks like the temperature outside should be in the high 30's, but I go out there in a sweater expecting to be freezing. I am wrong. It is in the 80's (well feels like it). I end up doing all my errands dying of heat exhaustion. No worries, I will acclimate.
*We also had Stake Conference. I absolutely love the adult session. In my opinion, it is better that the Sunday session. A lady gave a talk (at the adult session) on finding joy in the moment. Be glad that you have opportunities of everyday life. She relayed a story of a young mother who was diagnosed with leukemia. For the 2 years remaining of her life she was in and out of the hospital. While there, fighting for her life, she just wished that she could be home with her little girl. Be grateful for the little things of life.
*I am a bit annoyed with all of the commercial on the up coming election. I can't wait for tomorrow to be over and the topic of conversation will not be the 2008 election. Vote yes, vote no. John McCain, Barack Obama. Will it ever end.
*I love the month of November. It has always been good to me. I turn 26 this month and I guess it not that bad. I have a wonderful husband and a baby on the way. This is the month of Thanksgiving. Not only does this holiday have the best food, but it reminds everyone to be thankful for what they have. I love turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole (if it is made right, cause I have tried one that just did not qualify). I am not a big pie person but some of them are ok. If they are fresh. And work is taken off to spend time with family. I love my family.

*This is one of my favorite pictures. You can just feel the power radiating from Abinidi. I love this story of Abinidi as well (found in Mosiah 11-17). The power of the Spirit felt when reading his teachings to King Noah.

I need to let everyone know of my friend Kim. She is super talented and has done many projects for various different companies, friends and family members. Go check out her blog to see all of her work. She has done illustrations for a children's book, for kids rooms, and some self portraits. Here is an example.

Check out her blog. There is a link under "our friends." She'll draw anything for you. Also, she does flower arrangments.

Jelly Belly

Have you ever had a Jelly Belly jelly bean? If not I suggest to try one. The flavor that is in those little tiny things, wow, amazing. I don't know how they pack so much flavor into one small jelly bean, but they do. And they get the flavor so accurate. For instance, one of the flavors is strawberry jam, not just strawberry, but strawberry jam, tastes identical to Smuckers strawberry jam.

On Friday, October 24 (it has taken me awhile to post, sorry), Dave and I went to the Jelly Belly factory. Pretty spectacular. Having a husband that did many projects in college dealing with mechanical things, made me appreciate the tour so much more . I can take a guess as to how long the mechanical engineers spent on designing and creating the machines that make the jelly bean process so much more efficient. I like seeing it in action. Our tour guide was pretty lame, it was the end of the day and you could tell he just wanted to get done and go home. But, I still enjoyed seeing the process of The Jelly Belly.

Here are some pictures. This is where you wait in line for the tour, as you can see no one is in line and the tour was starting in 3 minutes. Going on week days is the best time to go, no wait.
This is a picture of (I think) Princess Diana, made of just Jelly Bellies. Here is me, we had to wear these hats to keep our hair from going all over the place. I guess. We though these were hilarious.

They are sport beans. Gatorade in a jelly bean. They have electrolytes, carbs, and vitamins B & C. For those of you who know food chemesty carbs are basically sugar.

We bought a new car. After a little over a year of researching and deciding what we like, we bought this 2007 Honda Accord EX V6. Here is the back
And a nice view of the front interior.
We found it on Craigslist.org. The guy who was selling it bought it at an auction damaged. He fixed it up (he owns a body shop) and sold it for way cheap. We got it for half the price for what Kelly Blue Book states. I was expecting to go look at it and it be used, ya know, scratches, dents, nicks, etc. But no it was so new looking that it won me over. It drives a ton better than what I have been used to the past ten years.

The women that we delt with did not speak any English, that was so frustrating. We had to communicate with the nephew. OH well, we did it and we are both pleased at the purchase.
Now we are ready to put that baby car seat in the back and this time it will fit.

Bragging Rights

I have all the rights in the world. My husband is SO handsome. Just look at this picture of him all dressed up. That is all I need to say, pictures say a thousand words.

Just want to tell Dave that I love him and am so grateful that he is such a hard worker. He gets up every morning to go to work. I never hear any complaints from him. Even when he was working in the summer for APX; he would get up every day and be at the office by 9 am and some days it was by 8 am. He would work all day until 10 or 11 pm and some days not even get home until midnight and then some. For those of you who don't know how APX summers are it is not 5 days a week for 4 1/2 months, but 6 days a week for 4 1/2 months straight. He got up every morning and went to work. For that I am so appreciative. I am so thankful that he supports me and our son that will be here in December (cause getting ready for a child is not cheap). Thanks Dave, I love you.

Father and Son

Are back breaks needed to replaced so bad. Dave finally had some time today to work on them and his dad has all the tools necessary to do the job. Here they are working together on the breaks.
Turned out great. They work tons better.
Since living with Dave's parents, I see more and more each day how much alike these two are. Dave is so much like his father. I see some qualities from his mom, but he has more from his dad. Take a look at the picture below. This was taken at Kaylinn and Tessa's graduation party at Aunt Lori and Uncle Kirk's house in St. Anthony, ID. They are sitting the same way. Definitly father and son.
It has been so wonderful for them to spend quality time together. Thanks for letting us stay here Mom and Dad Wright. We love you.

Air Plane Show in SF

"San Fransisco is the place to be"
I went to this place yesterday. Spur of the moment decision. Friday night, my mother-in-law Dianna, comes to me and tells me that it is fleet week and that the Blue Angels are going to be doing the Air Show in San Fransisco tomorrow. Let's go! Saturday, our men having to work, us ladies headed for the city. It was crowed. So many people of every ethnic background.

After we found a parking spot (I think they raise the rates for big events), we headed for Pier 39. This is where a great spot was to watch to boat parade. The boats were supposed to be lined up and coming through the bay at 11:30. 12 came and no boats. They never ended up having a boat parade. :( By then we were both hungry and I had to go to the bathroom.

Bathroom experience/Lesson Learned: I got done washing my hands and went to the dryer. First one I tried did not work, I tried everything, but I did not want to look stupid anymore so I went to the one next to it. While I am drying my hands a lady tries to get the one next to me to work. I said to her "I don't think that one works, I tried and never got it to turn on." She just looked at me weird. Then I heard her speaking some other language to the person she was with. She had no clue what I was saying to her. I then learned that just because she was white does not mean she spoke English.
After that lovely experience, we found lunch. I have had my best seafood experiences on Pier 39, because this clam chowder was amazing and it was in a sour dough bread bowl.
This is our lunch show, amazing how they can all fly together like that, so uniform and close.

I thought this was cool how close they get to the water. Most all the planes were doing this, but this one was going slow enough for me to get a picture. These air plane are the Blue Angels. Spectacular show! The next few pictures are of them.Look how close they are and they don't even crash.Great fun. Fantastic performance. I recommend to all to see this show at least once in your life time. I enjoyed it.

October 10, 2008

You have to stop what you are doing and take the following pictures NOW. No excuses! If you don't have time to blog just take the pictures NOW and blog when you can!! No cleaning, re-arranging, just have fun taking the pics!

1. Kitchen Sink 2. Favorite room 3. Fridge 4. Closet 5. Laundry room 6. Self Portrait 7. Kids are doing, or what you are doing 8. Dream Vacation 9. Favorite Shoes 10. Bathroom

1. Kitchen Sink - I think that I really like the open sink as appose to the divided sinks.

2. Favorite room- This is the family room, it is my favorite because this is where the family always gathers to talk and bond.

3. Fridge- There is not a whole lot of room.

4. Closet- I only took a picture of one side of the closet, because this is the side with our clothes.

5. Laundry room- The laundry is outside in the garage
6. Self Portrait- I cheated on this one. I got ready for the day before I took the picture. Hey at least I am being honest.

7. Kids are doing, or what you are doing - Well, my child at the moment is not visible to the human eye, and since he is in my stomach ya pretty much know what he is doing. So, I took a picture of what I am doing. I am reading the book "Eclipse" by Stephanie Meyer. I am borrowing it from my sister and she likes to take the covers off, so the book is just black.

8. Dream Vacation- I really want to go on a cruise. Believe it or not Dave and I actually have the money to do so (it was his graduation gift from his parents). We just have not be able to go because of the grueling APX summers and after the summer was over I was too far along to be allowed to the ship. Now, we will probably have to wait until our baby is older. Maybe next August or September.

9. Favorite Shoes- Most of our belongings are in storage in AZ. My most favorite shoes are there. I did not bring them for 3 reasons, 1) We had limited space in our little cavalier (the baby's car seat doesn't even fit in the back seat at all, even with nothing back there) 2)I don't have any red maternity clothes to match them and 3) When I can wear my regular clothes it will be winter and they are strapy high heels which will make my feet cold and since they are already the coldest part of my body, strapy during the winter is no fun. So these are my favorite ones that I brought. My most favorite ones are very similar, they are just red.

10. Bathroom- Not much to say about this pretty self explanatory

This was my most favorite tag so far. Thanks Kim. I tag Kaylinn, Tessa, Stephanie, Kelsey, Whitney, Rachel, Cassie, Diane, Lindsey, Allison, Ashlin, and any one else I did not say who wants to have some fun.
