Little Va-ca

This past weekend Dave and I took a break and went on a very short vacation. We left Spokane at 9:45 pm Saturday night and arrived at Tessa and Cory's at 2:00 am. Cory was graduating with a Masters. Way to go Cory. It was a great reason to get together. We had a BBQ with Cory's family, lots of laughs, and quality time together. I did not want to come back so soon. Dave and I came home at 11 am Monday morning and worked all the way home.

This picture is just a cool bridge that we saw on the freeway. I took it while we were driving.

This little guy is our very cute nephew, Macade. He likes the camera.

Here is another picture of him sporting Dave's cool sunglasses. I thought this one was way cute.

Unfortunately, we did not get any other pictures. I am really bad at taking pictures and usually forget that I even have a camera. I am trying to work on it a bit more. Maybe, when we have our baby that will motivate me to take more. With all that said we had a wonderful, rejuvenating trip.

So, here’s how it works:

1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc.)

2. Put it on shuffle

3. Press play

4. For every question, type the song that’s playing

5. When you go to a new question, press the "next" button

6. Don’t lie and try to pretend you’re cool!

Opening credits: " On Top of the World" Brandy
Waking Up: "The Other Way" Weezer
First Day At School: "Falls Apart" Sugar Ray

Falling In Love: "From the Heart" Hoobastank

Fight Song: "Gansta's Paradise" Coolio

Breaking Up: "Paradise" Phil Colins

Prom: "One Year, Six Months" Yellow Card

Life’s OK: "Be Our Guest" Beauty and the Beast

Mental Breakdown: "Fallin" Alicia Keys

Driving: "Throught the Rain" Mariah Carey

Flashback: " Dysentery Gary" Blink-182 (I don't think that I have ever listen to this song)
Getting Back Together: "Heffalumps and Woozles" Winnie the Pooh
Wedding: "Love for Me" Ashlee Simpson

Birth of Child: "I'm ready, I am" The Format

Final Battle: "Hold On" Good Charlotte

Death Scene: "Little Bitty Pretty One" Aaron Carter (I don't even know where this came from)

Funeral Song: "Somebody Like Me" Slikk the Shocker & Mya (Remebering my Youth)

End Credits: "O Holy Night" Mariah Carey

Some of them are pretty funny. I had so much fun doing this that I did it twice. But, I only posted the first time I did it.

I copied this from a blog of one of Kaylinn's friends (you now know how boring my life is). It was a tag so now, I am tagging Kaylinn, Kim, and anyone else who wants to participate (it is a lot of fun).

Yesterday, I spend an hour and a half watching this movie. I rented it from the "Red Box," which means that it was only a dollar. I knew upon renting it that it was not going to be the best movie, but I was curious. Well, I suggest to everyone don't waist your time. It was so stupid.

I finally got to watch American Idol. I went to the apartment complex's workout room. I sat on the hard floor to watch it (I should have been exercising but, I am still so tired). I was very surprised to see that David Cook won. I was so sure that it would be David Archuleta. Oh well, I am happy it was Cook. I was reading some opinions of people about Cook. They think that he is a Daughtry wannabe. That's sad. Sure he is a rocker but, I don't think that he is a wannabe. I don't think that they should be compared. That is like saying Daughtry is a wannabe Creed or Nickelback. Just my opinion.

I had my first ultrasound. Lucky me it was a vaginal ultrasound. Dave and I got to see the baby...there is only one. We are not having twins. Here are pictures of the ultrasound. It was good to find out that the baby has 2 arms, legs, hands, and feet. The baby even has 2 parts/lobes to his/her brain, which, is good to know the brain is developing like it is supposed to. Also, he/she has a heart beat. Technology is amazing. The first picture is a 3D one. To me it looks more like a baby then the other picture. The second picture is a side view with the baby lying supine. Which I really can't tell, only that I see a head and a body with no arms or legs. Other pictures confirm that the baby does have arms and legs. These pictures are mainly for those who care, because in all honesty every ultrasound baby looks the same. Especial when the mother is only 11 weeks (that is just my opinion). Oh, and the lady doing the ultrasound measured our child and said that I am 11 weeks and 1 day. That is 5 days off of what I calculated with my menstral cycle. That can change again at the 5 month ultrasound. We'll see. I am still going to say that my due date is December 14.

New Car???

Dave and I are in need of a new car before ours falls apart, while driving, and we can't get a decent trade-in for in. We keep jumping from car to car. First, we were going to go with the Toyota Corolla. Next, was the Mazda3 and now the Mazda6. I am happy about the change from the Corolla to the Mazda3 or 6. We are looking for a 4-door, with good gas mileage, under 10,000, used, newer year, and a little more umph than a Cavalier (which is not hard to do). Any suggestions?

Happy Birthday Dave

Yesterday, Dave and I celebrated his birthday. I kinda slacked this year on the gift wrapping. As you can see in this picture none of them are wrapped and one is wrapped in an old envelope we received.
But, He still enjoyed the gifts. Can't you tell.

Here is a pair of shorts he got, they say Arizona on them. Hehehe

Look at these cool shades he got.

We had a very relaxful day. It was great to spend time together. Even better, Dave got the day off. I cooked him some ribs and some ghetto mashed potatoes. We did not have any potatoes so, we boiled some hash browns. We did not have anything to mash them with so, we used a fork. That took forever. They turned out ok, kinda lumpy. Dave is not a fan of cake so I made him some brownies and we had no candles so we pretended while I sang "Happy Birthday". Poor Dave, he was a good sport.

Lesley's Costco Experience

Today was my first real appointment with the OB/GYN. Went pretty well. Filled out a bunch of papers, got blood drawn, and had a pap. Oh, the joys of being a woman. Good news, the nurse said everything looked normal and my uterus is a good size. That went well. The real story comes from my experience at Costco. I went to Costco afterwards to get a couple things. First, I got gas. After, I didn't feel like driving around looking for a parking spot. I saw an elderly lady loading up her purchases and decided to wait. I waited. And waited. Finally she was done, she shut her trunk and then had to take her cart all the way back to the entrance of Costco. No big deal, I waited that long what is a couple more minutes. Just as she was backing out I see this minivan pull up on the other side thinkin they get the spot. Sure enough the guy went right in and parked there. I was livid. I rolled down my window and yelled at him. He herd me because his window was down. I told him that I was waiting there longer, it was my spot, and that he was rude. I can't believe that I was yelling at him, that is so unlike me. Luckily, there was a parking spot opening up close, so that guy was lucky. After I parked, I just started crying and it took me awhile to gain control. I can't believe how emotional I am. It's crazy. It is a good thing I can laugh about it now.
Happy to say that there were a ton of nice people there in Costco. It made up for it. A lady saw me grab a box of fruit by the foot and told me there was a coupon for it. She told me that I could have it and she let me go through the rest of the them and pick out whatever coupons I needed. How sweet. At least there are some nice people here in Spokane.

What is this world coming to? Pretty selfish if you ask me!

Today was my first appointment with a doctor. It was not a OB/GYN just a regular doctor. Because you can't go to the "specialty" doctor until you get a referral. Blah. Blah. Blah.
Dave and I are talking to the doctor and he asks us if we want to take a test to detect birth defects. "Many birth defects can be diagnosed before birth with special tests (prenatal diagnosis). Chromosomal abnormalities such as Down syndrome can be diagnosed before birth by analyzing cells in the amniotic fluid or from the placenta." (quote taken from http://www.healthsystem.virginia.edu/UVAHealth/peds_newborn/ncomdeft.cfm) I asked why this would be done. He said, that people like to know if their baby will have a birth defect. If the baby does, they abort the baby. We were appalled. I can't believe that people actually do that. I am not going to lie, having a child with down syndrome would be tough. But, very rewarding. Just look how cute the baby is in this picture and I don't even know this baby. Imagine how cute our baby will be (well, at least I will think he/she will be cute).

One of My Past Times

American Idol: I love American Idol. I love music and hearing others sing.

Cheers to the final 3. All of them were my top 3.
Let me just say HURRAY for Syesha. I have loved her from the beginning and she has had some close calls. I don't think she will make the top 2, but I am so glad she is number 3.
Out of the Davids, I personally prefer David Cook. He is a far better performer. I could definitely listen to a whole CD of him. I also have a feeling that he will be in the rock or alternative genre. David Archuleta on the other hand, I could see him doing... gospel or a performer like Josh Groban. He definitely has the voice and the talent. But, I still think that David Cook should win the whole shindig. So, I will be voting for Syesha and David Cook.

Looking back on Rexburg

It is appropriate to honor Dave and his hard work.
The good Ol' Austin building where Dave lived the past couple of years

This is Dave celebrating. "No more school!"

All our stuff being loaded up to go to AZ. It took 2 trucks, a trailer, and our car.

Our last good-bye, farewell Rexburg (snow on the ground still surprise, surprise)

The family gathered after Dave's graduation at Aunt Lori and Uncle Kirk's, for some food and games.

Here we are playing the M&M game (very silly and fun to play).
What you need is a bowl of plain M&Ms, straws cut in half, a pair of dice, and lots of crazy people.
How to play. Have to roll doubles, a 7 or 11. Once you roll one of those, grab the bowl of M&Ms, then suck through the straw to pull out the M&Ms. The goal is to get the most M&Ms out of the bowl. But beware 'cause the person across the table could grab the bowl right as you are sucking.

Aunt Lori's turn, while Teneal and Lesley watch.

Life as of Today

Dave graduated and we have moved for good from our place in Rexburg. Here we are in Spokane, WA. Life is busy. But only for a short while. Then on to a new adventure, we don't know where but good thing we know when.
Just want to share what I have come across. I was in church listening to testimonies. I realized that I have been in over 12 wards in the past 7 years. WOW. What I got from that thought was, the church is true no matter where you live or where you go. The order is the same, I feel the same feeling, learn the same things, and participate in the same ordinance. I love that. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. The End.

P.S. Happy Cinco de Mayo, a great excuse to eat mexican food! Unfortunately, I will not be eating any today. I'll have to save mine for later.

P.P.S. For those of you who we have not told yet. Lesley is pregnant. Only 8 week along, but still pregnant. That is why we have added that baby count down.
