The Phone Call

This is Dave, I know I don't write much anymore but I wanted to share with you something extremely exiting and I couldn't just have Lesley do it.

I got a phone call today from the CIA. The man introduced himself as director of HR Mr. Shepard, and that he got a tip from an anonymous source about me. He then asked me a series of questions like: are you a citizen of the U.S.? I said yes. He continued, have you ever been convicted of a felon? Have you ever been in the military? Have you ever been involved with an anti-terrorist organization? I answered no to all of those, so he went on ... What is your highest level of education? I told him I graduated collage as a mechanical engineer and the conversation went on about various life experiences I've had, work, and other hobbies and interests.

In the end he told me that they are looking for someone to move to Washington DC to start a position as an engineer specializing in quantum mechanics and physics. Basically that means that I will be finding ways to track down information by using the study of the behavior of matter and energy at the molecular, atomic, nuclear and even smaller microscopic levels. Or even more basically, I'll be looking at reactions and spying throughout the world through a lazer, or building the devices that do that.

He explained that they are looking for someone young that is planning on long term commitment possibly until retirement. They want to start training from the ground up, and with someone that is young so that they can utilize the technology of the future. Not someone that is stuck in their ways and lie to themselves and the organization by saying "can't teach a dog new tricks."

I told them I would have to think about it, but then he added this ... The pay, aside from benefits, will start at over $100k. How much over? Well he didn't say, but he did say that it won't be one of those gimmicks that say over 100 and there's 101.

So, I'm kinda freaking out! Washington DC here we come! I'm sure we'll be able to figure in some kind of travel arrangement to visit friends and family or have them come visit us!

This would be the coolest thing that has ever happened to me except for if/when I become a god, no joke ... but this is a joke cause it's april fools. It's a farce. It isn't true. This has all been a made up story for you to indulge on and for me to dream about.

Happy first everyone.
