Camping Family Reunion

The main reason why we all came to CA was to go CAMPING. We went to the Calaveras Big Trees camp grounds. We had a blast. Could not keep Carter clean. After the 3rd time of Carter tripping and landing in the dirt, I gave up. No that is not chocolate on his face...
The bears visited twice. The 2nd night they tried to get into the storage container (in the above picture is a green storage container that is where we kept our food from the bears). Mark (Kaylinn's husband) had an idea to put all the sweets into the coolers. That kept them from trying to get in the 3rd night. But they were curious about the box on top of the truck and they left foot prints. Pretty scary and exciting.

We went to the river that was close by. Dave, Mom, Mark and Kaylinn are in this picture floating down the river. The water was cold and Carter did not want to get in so I stayed behind to watch him. He had fun collecting rocks and hiking by the river.

We went on a hike one of the days. The trees were amazing. They were gigantic. We went during Carter's nap time so he did not have a good time.

Look at this tree, we are standing next to it and is still bigger around.

Carter was in his element, he loves being outside. By the end Carter became a pro camper, he stopped tripping and falling in the dirt, he chased squirrels, picked up sticks, collected rocks and explored his surrounding.
